Youth Football Intern - Forty Niners Football Company (Santa Clara, CA)
The 49ers host a multitude of youth football and health and fitness programs for young people ages 6-18 throughout the year. These events focus on football skill acquisition, fitness concepts, character development, along with concussion and heat and hydration awareness.
We are looking for a high energy, self-motivated person with an affinity for football and community outreach to join our team.
College degree preferred
Experience working with youth in sports programs
Comfort leading and speaking to large groups of youth and adults
Basic knowledge of football strategy and skill fundamentals
Prior football coaching experience preferred but not required
Strong writing skills
Clean driving record and current CA driver’s license
Able to lift 50Lbs or more
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Work with 49ers Youth Programs team to organize and execute 100+ annual youth football camps, clinics and events.
Lead groups of up to 200 young people through noncontact youth football drills
Reach out to local nonprofits, schools, after school programs and youth football teams
Set up and breakdown camp equipment including pop-up dummies, step over bags, cones, and ladders
Clean and maintain all camp equipment
Keep current and accurate inventory of youth football equipment, shirts and other giveaways
Be able to drive a 25ft box truck
Assist with Play 60 and Youth Football programs including but not limited to:
2 & 3 Day Youth Football Camps
Community Monday events
USA Football clinics
Game Day activations
Oversee Coach and Player of the Week program (August-December)
Select winners from local market
Create game recap articles for weekly winners
Coordinate winners’ end of year visit to facility

Denise DeBartolo York has had a long and distinguished career in business and professional sports. Mrs. York is the owner and co-chairman of five-time world champion San Francisco 49ers. Earlier in her career, Mrs. York served as president of the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team. Under her leadership, the Penguins were revitalized and transformed into a Stanley Cup winning team. Mrs. York has been named by Forbes’ Magazine as one of the most powerful women in sports.
The Denise DeBartolo York Fellowship celebrates the legacy of Mrs. York and cultivates the talent pipeline of women in professional sports. The Fellowship is awarded annually to a female college graduate who demonstrates the qualities of Denise and the San Francisco 49ers: leadership, integrity, and concern for the community.
The fellowship is designed to give the fellow a well-rounded foundation in the business of professional sports. The fellowship is suited to a young woman who aspires to a career in any aspect of the business of a professional sports team. The 12-month program consists of approximately four three-month rotations among business departments in areas where women have historically been underrepresented in the sports industry, including Sales, Studio, and Stadium Operations. To maintain continuity, the fellow will work with the Human Resources Manager to support her through all of the rotations. In addition, the fellow will be assigned executive mentors to facilitate her growth.

Capable of working nights, weekends and holidays, as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree required.
