Sr. Revenue Accountant - San Francisco 49ers (Santa Clara, CA)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounts receivable function:
  • Manage all invoicing for sponsorships and luxury suites.
  • Review and analyze sponsorship and broadcast contracts in order to accurately reconcile gross annual revenue amounts, and track corresponding payment schedules.
  • Manage daily/weekly banking and cash reconciliations.
  • Review accounts receivable aging and follow up on past due accounts.
  • Respond to all W-9 and supplier registration inquiries.
  • Work with Director, Accounting to maintain credit and collections policies.  
  • Serve as main liaison with internal and external customers for accounts receivable.
  • Revenue:
  • Review and analyze sponsorship and broadcast contracts for compliance with company and League policies.
  • Work with Corporate Partnerships to manage revenue allocation and recognition.
  • Evaluate proposed barter sponsorships for fair market value and department budget compliance.  Work with budget owners to appropriately apply barter credit amounts.
  • Prepare and update monthly revenue reports.
  • Handle timely completion of League revenue reporting.
  • Review and reconcile monthly retail store P&L statements.
  • Manage revenue recognition, collection, and reconciliations related to stadium concessionaire.

Other Responsibilities:

·         Review and manage monthly sales commissions and bonus payments.

·         Manage the monthly close for revenue as well as month-end/year-end financial reporting.

·         Reconcile revenue-related general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.

·         Prepare audit schedules and assist with the external audit process.

·         Record revenue for supplemental revenue streams (tours, museum, fan clubs, etc).

·         Evaluate staffing needs and supervise interns assisting with revenue and accounts receivable.

Education and Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Accounting.

·         Minimum 4-5 years of revenue accounting experience.

·         Experience with Great Plains accounting system or equivalent preferred.

·         Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Professional sports team experience a plus.
