Senior Accountant - Forty Niners Football Company (Santa Clara, CA)

The San Francisco 49ers are looking for a Senior Accountant.  This full-time position will be responsible for general accounting activities including month-end journal entries, account reconciliation, and accruals.  This position will also provide post close support preparing ad hoc financial reports, FLUX analysis and detailed revenue analysis. Partnering with key business decision makers to assist in planning and analysis will also be an important element of the role.  The ideal person for this position will have accounting experience and be detailed oriented. 

Responsibilities:

  • Month-end close
  • G/L account reconciliation
  • Prepare monthly P&Ls
  • Interface with auditors as needed
  • Assist in financial planning and modeling
  • Detailed modelling and analysis of revenue and expenses
  • Other projects as necessary

MUST HAVE Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5-7 years’ related work experience
  • US GAAP experience
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
  • Expert level in Excel
  • Positive attitude
  • Top notch communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Organized with excellent time-management
  • Desire to move ahead in their career/goal oriented and motivated
  • BS in Accounting or equivalent
  • CPA preferred but not required

Accounting Manager - San Francisco 49ers (Santa Clara, CA)

Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all aspects of accounting for stadium events, including general ledger, fixed assets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, but with a strong focus on revenue.  This role reports directly to the Director of Accounting. 

 Job Description:

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and procedures
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with external financial and League audits, including preparation and/or review of audit schedules and work papers
  • Develop and implement recommendations for enhancing organizational financial performance and process improvement
  • Provide support for Finance team in analyzing financial results
  • Supervise, guide, and mentor departmental staff
  • Other related responsibilities and special projects as assigned

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in accounting
  • Minimum 5-7 years related work experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory accounting rol
  • Experience with Great Plains and/or Concur a plus
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Professional sports and/or events facilities experience a plus
